1. Junior Java Developer, Cape Town

Responsibilities

  • Will be partly responsible for the development of components for new and existing products.
  • Will be required to have a basic understanding of the company product base and the operation thereof.
  • Might be required to learn new technologies and implement acquired knowledge into projects.
  • Will have the opportunity to work both by yourself and with a team on new and existing projects.
  • Will have the opportunity to grow within the company and take responsibility for larger projects as your knowledge and experience grows.

Skills

  • Software Development Qualification essential.
  • Knowledge of the following is essential:
    • J2SE
    • Database communication and development
  • Knowledge of the following is preferable:
    • Swing development
    • Web development
    • Web based communication
    • Financial switching
  • Must be well spoken and have the ability to communicate on a technical level.
  • Must be able to work well in a team as well as by yourself.
  • Must have an eagerness to learn new technologies and a good work ethic.

Skills

  • Experience with financial switching environments preferable.
  • Knowledge of the following is essential:
    • J2SE
    • RMI
    • Web based protocols and communication
    • Web services and XML security
    • Database communication and development
  • Knowledge of the following is preferable:
    • Swing development
    • JWS
    • ISO 8583 standards
    • Persistence libraries
  • Must be well spoken and have the ability to communicate on a technical level.
  • Must be able to work well in a team as well as by yourself.
  • Must have an eagerness to learn new technologies and a good work ethic.
  • Experience in creating new products preferable.
